We're in Ire Inlet on Anger Island tonight. It's on the other side of the island from Foul Point. There's a cool phenomenon about this inlet. The island appears from the chart to be composed of three parts. Inlets and waterways divide the parts. The far end of our inlet leads to an enclosed waterway that leads to another inlet. Two inlets on opposite sides of the island are connected by a waterway. The cool part is that the inlets flood and ebb at different times. When the tide is high enough, water flows from the inlet with the higher level to the inlet with the lower level. The change of level follows the terrain of course, but when the tide is high, from Quijote it looks like a long, niagara like waterfall between our inlet and the waterway. The water falls in one of two directions depending on the tides.
